chose to do that particular VLSI design because I had a bunch of little LED matrices and I wanted to use them. I went ahead and wired together this 30 x 7 display in anticipation of using my chip, but due to "administrative complications", none of the VLSI designs in my class ended up getting fabricated. So I modified the circuitry so it could interface with the parallel port of my computer. The circuit refreshed and multiplexed the display and supported a 2-bit color depth (4 shades). Then I gutted the circuitry once again in order to use it as the new Coke machine display. This display was also embedded into a wall of my room as part of my ditch day stack. So this little display has really gotten around.
