Air Conditioner Project summer, 2000

HILADELPHIA is hot and humid and nasty in the summertime, and after you walk through the heat for twenty minutes to get home from school, you don't want to walk into an equally hot apartment and have to wait another twenty minutes for the air conditioner to cool down the room. Thus, for Joanne's birthday, I made her this little black box that sits next to her answering machine. Before she leaves school, she can phone home, let the answering machine pick up, and punch in a code, and the device will turn on the air conditioner. She can then go home and walk into a nice, cool apartment.
