This and that... The "band" will be playing at Curve in SF on November 1, roughly from 9 to midnight. So if you want to hear a mediocre rock band make some sub-mediocre music as well as mangle a cover or three, well, that's the place to be. As I mention too frequently, I have a strange addiction to lurking around artist websites. It seems to be common practice in the online art community for artists to thank their site's patrons by drawing up a big "thank you" graphic when their hit counter reaches a large round number. Such as 20,000, or 100,000, or some other quantity with an absurdly long sequence of zeros. Well, I didn't want to be left out of the fun just because I don't have a hit counter, and no one visits my site, and I can't draw. I grabbed a pen and came up with my own "thank you" picture. Most of these artists maintain a personal FAQ as well. Apparently, their inboxes are inundated daily with hundreds of emails from admirers, many of which ask similar questions. Hence, the FAQ, to stem the flood somewhat. Well, heck, I can do that... I get email! I get lots of email! So, in order to provide public responses to the most common email queries I receive, I present to you the first ever Bret FAQ:
Anyway... The other day I slipped up and mentioned to my roommates that I've wanted to play Final Fantasy 8 ever since I saw the picture of Rinoa on the cover. Predictably, John immediately derided me for letting a computer-generated female catch my eye, and suggested that I leave the house once in a while to interact with flesh-and-blood-type people. He's probably right about that, of course, but it was a reminder why I never express my true opinions about anything around here. I'll try not to make that mistake again. Latest excellent webcomic find: Life's So Rad. That's some funny stuff. It appears that Lloyd Radio is alive and well again, and is even enjoying a little bit of popularity. You have no idea how happy that makes me feel. |
