I was on campus near the EE building when
I look up into the sky

There is a spiraling cloud formation moving very quickly --
Whispy white clouds spin loosely defined circles

I reach into my backpack and take out my new phone
To take a picture for you

As I am taking many shots
In order to later choose the "best" one
Something even more remarkable happens

A bright, compact circle in the sky -- the sun --
Starts to move!

It starts bouncing along a downward facing parabolic arc in the sky
With greater velocity it nears the ends of the earth.

Forwards -- backwards -- forwards -- backwards
The sky is changing colors from light to dark

The sun begins to look like a moon

At this point, I am snapping a frenzy of pictures
But none capture the sun's spectacular movement
In each of the static images
Nothing out of the ordinary is detectable

A crowd begins to gather
Students and faculty are collectively looking at the sky

When -- whoosh! -- the sun-moon suddenly disappears

There remains light from street lamps

And the world feel exciting but safe
